1960s Terms: Wilderness Act

1964 Wilderness Act:
On September 3rd, 1964, Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Wilderness Act. It protected around nine million acres of federal land. This is important becuase if this land was not proptected, we would not have woods or fresh air for our lungs.
